Bidet + Raised Toilet Seat Compatibility Checker

This diagnostic walks through the same measurements we reference in our bidet guides. Capture the answers, adjust hardware if needed, and cross-check against product specs before purchasing.

Before you start

  • Grab a measuring tape and confirm the lift height of your existing riser.
  • Note the gap between the riser and porcelain bowl where bidet plates usually slide.
  • Locate the toilet supply line to ensure there is clearance for a T-valve.

Bidet + Riser Compatibility Checker

Answer these five questions to gauge whether a bidet attachment will work with your raised toilet seat setup.

1. Does your riser attach using the toilet seat bolts?

These are the bolts that secure the original toilet seat.

2. Is there at least 0.5 inch of space between the riser and the porcelain bowl?

Measure the gap where the bidet hardware would sit.

3. Does the riser block the bidet spray path?

The spray path is the opening where the nozzle extends.

4. Can you access the water line near the toilet tank?

Most bidets need the T-valve installed at the fill valve connection.

5. Will the total seat height stay at or below 21 inches?

Stack the toilet bowl height, riser lift, and cushion thickness.
